Please schedule your work on the SEMs at least one week in advance, as instrument time is booked quickly. Requests for the current week are scheduled at the discretion of the facility manager. When applicable, please copy your PI on all scheduling and training communications.
Please cancel your booking at least 24 hours before your appointment to avoid a cancellation fee equivalent to one hour of beam time.
Access & Training Requirements
1 – Access
Anyone entering EMiL must wear long pants and fully enclosed shoes in accordance with UNLV safety requirements.
UNLV users must complete:
- Chemical Hygiene Training (in person)
- Radiation Safety Awareness Training (online)
2 – Training
Complete instrument training before operating the SEMs without assistance.
Training is available by appointment for up to two people.
